Carol A. Fleming goes on to say, “The only way that people can sense your intelligence and professionalism is through the effectiveness of your communication: what they hear you say, the attitude that is perceived, and the very sound of your voice.”
In our programs, the greatest learning occurs when participants get to see and hear themselves after being videotaped. We have so few opportunities (and often actively avoid them) to see and hear ourselves speak that we are clueless to how we look and sound to others.
Our speech may be the greatest tool we have to influence our own success. What are you doing to take control?
