There are certain statements we’re preconditioned to believe because of the way we’re spoken to as children. One of them being “IF you do X, THEN this will happen” – “If you eat all of your dinner, then you can have dessert”, “If you finish your homework, then you can go to the movies”, “If you finish your work, then I can pay you.”

What’s our point? Subconsciously, even as adults, this statement still speaks to us. We have a rooted bond with this statement and whether we realize it or not, it has pull over us. Use this the next time you’re trying to persuade your audience to take action – “If you say yes to moving forward, then you will not be disappointed.”
